I have been buying and selling home since the mid 1980s.  Some homes only need to be decorated. While other homes need a total remodel to have the right flow.

I am a 59 year old grandmother, and no matter when you read this I will still be 59. I don’t plan to get any older.  Having gotten to this age, I find there are some things I can’t do any more. So I do hire out some work. There are some things I never would do. Still there are a lot of things that I can still do and probably always will.

Many of these things you will be able to do yourself also. There by saving yourself a lot of money. The more you can do for yourself, the more money you will have to put into materials.

You have probably heard the term “sweat equity”? That’s what this blog is about. Be it remodeling or just decorating, everything you do to your home to increase it’s value, will benefit you in the long run.

If you have questions about any thing here, just ask. If I can’t answer it, maybe another member will know the answer. I won’t say I know all the answers, but I’ve learned a lot of them. I’ll be happy to share what I know with you, if it will help you.

My hope is that this blog might help others realize that they don’t have to pay high prices to have work done. There is a lot you can do yourself.
